I am officially a Certified Sandals Specialist!
You might be thinking “why is she so excited about shoes, I thought she was all about travel?”
Well summer sandals do go with travel, but if you haven’t heard of Sandals All Inclusive resorts, then you’re missing out!
Last week I attended a training to become a Sandals Certified Specialist.
Look at me, I’m so official now!
Here I am with some of my favorite travel agent friends and a few fantastic people from the company that helped me learn all about what they have to offer.
So what is Sandals?
Sandals is a family-owned resort company that started with one brand and one resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica in 1981 and has become one of the best, award-winning, hospitality companies in the world. They have 24 properties in seven countries including Antigua, The Bahamas, Grenada, Barbados, Jamaica, Saint Lucia and Turks and Caicos, and something to offer not only couples looking to get away on vacation, but also families too.
Why they continue to win award after award and have a die-hard following of couples and families that vacation with them year after year is because of how they have differentiated themselves in the all-inclusive arena.

Not all all-inclusives are created equal and many are just a knock off – if you have ever compared a real Louis Vuitton next to a fake from the outside – it might be passable – take a look at the inside and you can totally see a difference!
This is exactly what it is like for many all inclusives that say they are playing the same game as Sandals – these resorts are truly like no other!
So why am I placing so much emphasis on this resort brand?
Well, I have full confidence that my clients will be not just satisfied, but over the moon with a vacation at one of their resorts. There is a location and property for everyone and sometimes it makes sense to hit up more than one in a single trip!
Something known as Honeymoon or Island Hopping.
They make this concept so easy, I’m ready to try it out!
Since we’re int he midst of wedding season, I thought it would be appropriate to highlight Honeymoon hopping, but hopping from resort to resort is really something that anyone can do, whether or not you’re about to get married.
A few reasons to try it:
- If one person likes pure relaxation and the other likes more activities, you can split your time between two places that will satisfy both individuals
- If you simply are having a hard time deciding on just one locale, you can experience both and know you’re going to get a fantastic experience
- If you have more time than usual to travel (usually a honeymoon) it’s a great time to try out multiple locations
And here are a few ideas with the Sandals brand having resorts on 8 different islands:
Wedding to Honeymoon
You can have the wedding of your dreams with family and friends at one resort (Sandals also owns Beaches resort which are family friendly!), then hop on over to another resort—on the same island or a completely new destination—for a romantic honeymoon for just the two of you.
Here’s 2 options, to do it:
Beaches Ochos Rios to Sandals Ochi Beach Resort
First say “I do” with your family and friends at Beaches and then say “farewell” for some privacy and romance and transition to Sandals Ochi Beach Resort, featuring all-butler villa suites and the trendiest beach club in the Caribbean.

Sandals Royal Bahamian & Sandals Emerald Bay
Tie the knot at the exotic Sandals Royal Bahamian and then honeymoon at the Six Star Diamond Award-winning Sandals Emerald Bay, in a secluded and serene setting.

Within An Island
Sandals Royal Plantation & Sandals Royal Caribbean
With so much laid-back Caribbean charm and regal British sophistication hop from the intimate all-oceanview, all-butler suite boutique resort in Ocho Rios and then head to a Georgian-style Manor House with a Bali-inspired private island escape in Montego Bay to create the ultimate Jamaican trip.

Sandals Halcyon Beach & Sandals Regency La Toc
These two Saint Lucia resorts embody the best of the Caribbean. Experience an intimate retreat nestled in a Garden of Eden just steps from the sea, then hop to a glamorous golf and spa resort that sweeps along a picturesque sunset bluff.

Island to Island
Sandals Grande Antigua, Sandals LaSource Grenada and then Sandals Barados
There’s no better way to explore three exotic islands in the Eastern Caribbean. First top at the “World’s Most Romantic Resort” in Sandals Grande Antigua. Then, jet set to Sandals LaSource set on Grenada’s pristine Pink Gin Beach and round out your trip at Sandals Barbados, where there is no shortage of luxury.

Other Hopping Ideas Beyond Sandals Resorts
Brides.com has some great ideas as well for combining different countries and travel beyond just an all-inclusive resort.
