We all dream of capturing the perfect photo on vacation. The one that will make your friends ‘awe’ and your family gasp. 2019 is officially here, which means it’s time to add these incredible and jaw-dropping locations to your selfie bucket list.
Chugach State Park, Alaska

When hiking in this nearly half-million-acre wilderness, you’d swear you left civilization far behind. It’s just you, the swans, spawning salmon, bears and maybe a quick glimpse of a beluga whale. But guess what? You’re just outside of Anchorage, by far the state’s largest city. That’s the beauty about America’s last untouched wilderness, around every bend is a new adventure.
Corcovado Mountain, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Yeah, you apparently can take a dramatic selfie high atop the famous 98-foot tall statue of Christ the Redeemer, overlooking one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. The question is: should you?
Iceland

Iceland’s popularity has grown significantly amongst travelers for the past decade, and for good reason. There are few places in the world so wild, so untouched, and so breathtaking. It’s easy to find a stunning selfie spot here, in fact, it’s harder to find a bad selfie spot. From towering ice caves to thundering waterfalls, this magical country will leave you only wanting more.
Kjerga and Trolltunga, Norway

Norway is known for its dramatic landscapes and fear-inducing hikes, and these two locations take the cake. Situated far away from civilization, it’s a multi-mile trek just to reach the points. Once you’re there, the real adventure begins. At Kjerga you can stand on the rock that’s (safely?) wedged between sky-high craggy peaks. At Trolltunga, a slim rock formation overhangs thousands of feet above the valley. If you’ve got a dash of crazy and an itch for adventure, this spot is for you.
Mt. Rainier, Washington State

Black bears, mountain lions, unpredictable weather and near proximity to an active volcano make a visit to Mt. Rainier National Park an eye-opener. If you can’t take an interesting selfie here, you can’t take one anywhere. That’s because there are over 260 miles of hiking trails leading through mythical forests, up craggy rocks, and through fielded valleys. To put it simply, Mt. Rainer National Park is an Instagrammers dream.
Route I, Maine

What a drive! Maine is perhaps one of the most underrated states here in the U.S. Road trip highlights include harbors, state parks, lighthouses, quaint villages and whale-watching points all along the Atlantic Ocean. Stop along the route at one of the dozens of coastal lighthouses and take a break along one of the many picture-perfect towns such as Concordville or Cape Elizabeth.
And don’t forget to try the lobster ice cream!
San Ignacio, Baja California Sur, Mexico

Mexico is filled with many photo-opportunities, which made it hard to choose just one! If you’re an animal-lover, take a trip down the Baja for a chance to swim with Pacific gray whales. Afterward, leave time to visit a picturesque Mexican village and become photo besties with prehistoric rock drawings at Sierra de San Francisco. There’s simply too much to recommend here, which means you’ll just have to visit!
Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, China

Walk across the world’s highest and longest glass-bottom bridge, just don’t look down. This bridge levitates nearly one-thousand feet off the ground, making the 1,400-foot walk bucket-list worthy. One you’ve made it safely back to ground, you’ll probably say “I can’t believe I did that!”.
